Exclusive | Cocktail-fuelled man reveals the truth behind the embarrassing viral US Open video

He doesn’t need to work on his service after all.

The man holding the cocktail in the US Open clip, who appeared to be being ignored by his date, was not objected at all, he told The Post after the racy footage went viral.

“It was great for the US Open to zoom in on me and not let that video play for two seconds longer,” the 43-year-old Brooklyn Heights Wall Streeter said.

The clip shows the man returning to his seat with two of the tour’s signature cocktails, Honey Bites, then apparently trying to hand one to the woman in the seat next to him when another suitor, seen from the row above, walks in and gives it to him. a $23 cocktail.

But the woman sitting next to him was not his wife, and the drink was not meant for her.

His wife was sitting in the row below, but she was mostly hidden by the video frame, he explained.

He was actually handing her the drink.

“If you look closely in the lower right corner of the video, you can briefly see a blonde with [a bob haircut]and this is my wife. She’s bent over and I’m actually looking at her,” said the man, who spoke on condition of anonymity as he sought to put the video, which has garnered 11 million views, behind him.

“We were with another couple who are friends of ours and we were in the stacked seats. . . . My wife was sitting in the seat below the blonde lady, who is our friend, and her husband was sitting in the seat above her, so he gave her the drink,” he continued of Monday night’s exchange at Louis Armstrong Stadium. The US Open headlined, “This is Cinema.”

“There is always a long queue [at the bar]so i got one for the team and waited 25 minutes. When I got back to our seats, I expected my wife to say, “Thank you, honey,” but she was already holding it. [a honey deuce]so she said, ‘I don’t want it,'” he recalled with a laugh.

His 41-year-old wife said the couple had received hundreds of messages and “had a lot of laughs” about the clip.

“We emailed the US Open because we’re like, ‘Well, so we get some free tickets or something in exchange for this viral video?'” the woman said.
