Mom, 30, Shares the Internet Going to Disneyworld Without Her Kids: ‘Embarrassing’

A woman who goes to Disneyworld without her children has divided and confused the internet.

Maddie, 30, who describes herself online as a “Disney and Universal travel specialist,” posted on social media that she faced “mommy guilt” when she let her kids go to Disneyworld without them.

“Have you ever gone on a solo Disney vacation without the kids?” she asked.

“I love taking family vacations to Disney and 99 percent of the time I do! But sometimes it’s very nice to be free and be a child without children.â€

The 30-year-old didn’t seem to expect any backlash for sharing her vacation on social media and added, “That’s your cue to take the trip, mom.”

The comment section quickly became less about Maddie’s journey and more about people’s judgments on whether or not she should have taken her children.

Maddie added in the comments that she would be picking up her two young children in three weeks, but was happy to be without them first and get to drink and ride big sidewalks.

The post went viral after a screenshot of the clip was shared on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Someone retweeted Maddie’s decision about X, and joked, “I’m going to have to take the side of mommy guilt on this one.”

That tweet garnered over 14 million views and started a huge debate in the comments section.

One person responded and garnered over 18,000 likes stating that they only go to Disneyworld “without” their kids.

“I am a complete person outside of being a mother and I am not obligated to take my children on vacation. Family trips exist for a reason, the mother argued.

The poster responded that while this was clearly the mother’s right and she had no problem with someone taking a vacation without their family, she couldn’t ignore the irony of the situation.

“It’s my right to think it’s very funny to leave your kids at home to go to a children’s place,” she replied.

People on Maddie’s side argued that even though she would have a kid-friendly place, that didn’t mean she had to bring her kids.
