They would not visit the property personally up to two weeks later.

“This buyer knew that if he didn’t get it, someone else would,” told Gaynor the Press Herald, who was the first to report on the sale. “She only has a really scary vibe to her.”

Built in 1969, the 5000-square-foot house underwent a high midnight-modern renovation in 2016 while holding the exterior of Cape Code code style.

“It is a surprise, it’s a teasing, it’s a sleep,” Gaynor said. “Because it looks like Granny’s little Cape Cod, and then you walk inside and – kaboom.”

The sale highlights the growing market of Maine’s luxury, which Gaynor says offers better value than other northeastern elite destinations.

“At the end of the day, Maine is still significantly underestimated compared to places like nantuckets and Hamptons, where many tents of people mounted to make their purchases,” he said, adding that this house could have Sold for twice as much in those areas.

The rare combination of wealth of a high -height water location, modern design and historical charm makes it an attitude.

“It has a truly marking appearance,” Gaynor said.
