The mysterious disappearance of a luxury Hamptons Beach villa, almost 100 years old and removing an ultra-exclusive removal of the golf course, has been resolved.
A British real estate mogul withdrew the secret acquisition, outside the market of a $ 12m “fairy tale” villa that was built in the early 20th century and bypassed Tony Maidstone Club in East Hampton.
But instead of moving to the charming five -bedroom “relic”, with exposed beams inspired by English arts and artisanal houses, buyers shattered it one day short.
“One day they [the neighbors] Woke up and the house was gone! “Said the high mediator of Douglas Elliman, Paul Brennan, who repped the buyer and the seller with the mediator Eliman Martha Gundersen.
Buyers, sources said, are Laura and Nick Capstick-Dale, who are currently listed on the Rich Sunday Times 2024 list with about $ 614 million. Capstick-Dales bought the house through the Trust of Revocable Jaroff.
The plan, springs told Gimme Shelter, is to build a larger, traditional “dream” home almost double the size, in the further lane of the predicts.
When it was reached the mountains of Atlas outside Marrakech, Morocco, Nick Capstick-Dale confirmed the news.
“We had been looking for a home overlooking Maidstone overlooking the ocean and sunset for some time. It is our favorite Hamptons appearance, and we also wanted to be locked in the village, having had a house in Egypt Lane for 14 years,” he said, adding that he had spent a total of 20 wine in East Hampton. “Houses that bypass the Maidstone club are generators and rarely come to the market, so we feel lucky.”
The house will be built by Ben Krupinski Builders, which created their former Lane Egyptian residence – and will be about 11,500 square meters.
Capstick-Dale added that they are uniting “Forever Home, destroying the existing home to build a new one that suited our life style with three children.
The stealth agreement outside the market is the East End conversation. The new Captstick-Dales neighbors include New York Co-owner Jets Robert Robert Wood (“Woody”) Johnson IV, who was an UK ambassador from 2017 to 2021 and also a member of the Maidstone club.
“They are staying in the area because they know it is as close to the British village as someone can get to this side of the basin,” one source said.
The seller was Mary Kay Jaroff Trust. The land, which climbs to the Maidstone club, boasts the stunning view of Hook Pond’s sunset and the ocean.
The previous house was 6,000 square meters while the new house will be nearly twice the size – all in 1.16 hectares with landscape gardens, told the Gimme sources. They add that the new home will be a “tasteful, traditional style gambrel, which will mix smoothly in the surrounding Grand Estate”.
The house quietly entered the contract in 2024 and closed in November “everyone without a whisper,” Brennan added. “The end result will be stunning.”
